Position 2 always unlocked any time when the charger disconnect request button pressed you can remove the plug. useful if you need to interrupt the charging and remove the plug from the car.

from the US user manual:

The 12-volt battery can become discharged if the charging timer is operated repeatedly between the Li-ion battery charges while the vehicle is not used for an extended period of time.

Therefore be sure to turn off the timers if the vehicle is giong to be not used for a long time.

good interpretation. btw, assume starter time is 11:00pm and stop time is 6:00am, will the system stop charging if it comes to the desired percentage (80% or 100%) before 6:00am?

Answer is Yes to your question. this is useful for if you pay the electricity on hourly rates as 3 phase customers after 10.30 and before 5.30 for 6.30 I can not remember will end time they charge 13 rupees or something per kw. using timer charge you can avoid charging at higher rates and strict to lower rate time slots.
